CNC ROUTER
The CNC machine (router) which I am currenty using is one which I build my self. The plans for it where acquired from here . So far, it has worked quite well for me, and I am currently using it with a Xylotex controller, and Xylotex motors (for all these links, simply go to the links page). I get about 30IPM for cutting, and about 40IPM for rapids. This is more than what I need, when carving and cutting out guitars. I also try to break the cutting proccess down into several steps, like doing the carving first, pausing, then the cutting the pockets, then the back etc. This way I take a break in between, and also give the machine a rest. I have cut for over 2 hours continously with the machine, and there were no issues. Here is a VIDEO

Most of the bits that I use are either bull nose straight flutes (for the carving), or flat nose (for the routes and pockets). These are clearly shown in my Mastercam instructional videos.
